Recently i came across a situation that kept me thinking..

Do the situation makes a man? I was speaking with one of our clients, he's polite and nice, nothing more i could ask for.. Then he dropped the bombshell - he asked, "Do paying with visa platinum or visa signature gives any extra discounts or perks?"

Credit card offers great convinence, together with good perks, that i agree.. With no credit card to my name, i would like to have one, just one would do.. For i often like to consolidate all infomation.. The benefits lure of what banks offer are great, and i dont see a point holding five or six credit cards.. Is it a sign of status? No, i personally think it's a sign of weakness..

Days when credit cards are exclusive, and you HAVE to pay a fee to get, are all waived nowadays.. Get many, use till all reach limit and defer payment.. That's a sign of weakness.. Pay at shop A to get extra points with card 1, shop at shop B with card 2 for extra free gifts.. That's a sign of weakness..

Free gifts often represent things we dont need, and points accrual are never enough for the thing on listing.. So you either pay or spend more to get what you desire.. That's a sign of weakness.. When your card's annual fee waiver is over you call them to cancel, only to extend the fee which is often nominal, by creating a fuss and citing whatever faults that came to mind.. That's yet another sign of weakness-of your character..

So, the fact now is not "Man make cards", it's instead "Cards make a man"..

On top of that, have we lost ourselves to cards? What you reckon?
