1st day back to reality

Ok, let me finish off my time in Hanoi...

9th April
The concert was great and somehow the oboe player squeeze a drop of tear from each of my eye, he played with passion and have that very touching 'feel'.

Met up with the Hanoi Kids (a group of student volunteers from the Hanoi University who will bring tourist or visitors around) for a tour to Ho Chi Minh Masoluem, HCM Museum, One pillar Pagoda. After which had lunch at KOTO (know one, teach one), a non for profit organisation.

Visited the west lake in the afternoon and had some more Bia Hoi and street eats back at the Old Quarter. Amidst our conversation, with the Hanoi Kids, a police mini truck pulled up from no where and started gripping on to which ever motor bikes on the road near the stall.

One by one the police officer pushed them away, much to the disgust of the bike owners. On the other hand the stall owner was busy collecting the plastic stools around there. I also stood up but Ruby pulled me by the arm, saying it's fine and to get seated.

Apparently they are suppose to eat/dine/drink on the pavement, but due to space constraint they were seated on the road. Hence the bikes were taken as pawn. Previously i read an online post about the policeman confiscating the stools and the stall owner would have to claim them back at the station with a 'fine'. No surprise they took a stepped up, aiming at getting the commoners who might give them a better pay day.

Ruby also mentioned girls will try to get policeman boyfriend as, the job provides security with promised riches'. It's nice to know that the policeman have got the entrepreneur touch.

After that in the evening went to see the acclaimed water puppets. Paid about USD2.50 for the VIP seat, could get the normal ones at half the price, but was advised by Cris to pay the diff and get a better view.

10th April
As it starts to drizzled, checked out of the hostel early and got on the shuttle bus to the airport. Walked around abit and finished two novels i had. Arrive 1.30am on friday morning.

Home Sweet Home =)

Some photos to share... (anyway i took 413 photos!)
